Depending on what plants our bees have been enjoying nectar and pollen from, the beeswax will slightly vary in colour and scent each harvest. It will always have that beautiful, gentle beeswax and honey scent. Just love it! Feel good knowing you are buying direct from the beekeeper and that this is 100% pure Australian beeswax. There is a lot of imported 'beeswax' in Australia falsely being sold as being of Australian origin and being sold in block and pellet form...most of the imports tested by the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council have been shown to either be paraffin, contaminated with paraffin or other chemicals. We love working with our beeswax and hope you will too. Thank you for supporting our family, team and bees. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q. Is your beeswax food grade? A. Yes it is. Q. What is beeswax bloom? A. Beeswax bloom is the dusty-looking, dull 'film' that you will sometimes see on the surface of beeswax and beeswax candles. It usually occurs when the wax cools and is exposed to differing temperatures. It's basically that the softer oils in the wax rise to the surface, it's a natural phenomena and not harmful in any way. If the look bothers you, you can either buff the wax with a cloth, or gently apply warm air via a hairdryer. Beeswax bloom is actually a great sign as it shows your beeswax is 100% natural. Q. What have your bees been feeding on? A. It really depends on the time of year and the weather. Our bees live on the mid north coast of NSW and visit pristine coastal and country forests and fields. Plants they enjoy include Yellow Box, Ironbark, Manuka, Stringybark, Clover, Apple Box, Bloodwood, Red Gum, native 'egg and bacon' bush and other seasonal flowering plants.
