Description: RUDDELL & NANCY LACONSELLO Handmade Zuni One of a Kind Sterling Silver Stone Inlay Cardinal Red Bird NECKLACE A vintage handmade sterling silver and stone inlay station necklace by Zuni master carvers and inlay artists Ruddell and Nancy Laconsello. This one of a kind necklace depicts an exquisitely carved coral Cardinal or Red Bird perched on a branch with two white Mother of Pearl blossoms on the main round central station. The Cardinal is surrounded by a frame of turquoise triangles inwardly pointing toward the Cardinal. The adjoining round stations on either side of the center feature a similar Mother of Pearl flower blossom surrounded by the same frame of turquoise triangles. The inlay stones of the Cardinal, flowers, and plant branches are also carved to depict feathers, petal shape, and leaf veins. The third level of round stations are the smallest and feature a singular round inlay of turquoise. The stations are all linked together with round sterling silver links and attached to a handmade neck chain with round and paper clip links. The necklace is finished off with a handmade hook and eye clasp closure with a total wearable length of 26 inches. The necklace can be worn at a shorter length by fastening the hook through one of the "paper clip" style links on the opposite side to shorten the length. The necklace is signed by the artists "R N Laconsello", "Sterling" for silver metal fineness, and "ZUNI" for tribal affiliation. All of the handmade Laconsello pieces are a one of a kind in design.
