Please also note I am not an expert on this item at all, so all this information is just my opinion, you'll have to be the judge of this fantastic Collectors item for yourself . I believe this is a New York Central system railroad Lantern / lamp that use kerosene, I believe. The item is marked NYCS which I believe stands for New York Central system. I also believe this is an all brass lamp. This fantastic collectors item measures approximately 7 and half inches long at the longest Point , and approximately 3 inches wide at the widest point. This is a super cool item that was found on the east coast of the United States , the Maryland area to be exact . this is exactly the way I found it, I didn't try to clean it up, I didn't try to do anything to it whatsoever, all I did is take pictures. This item will clean up really really nicely if that's what you choose to do, or you can just leave the learning attitude really cool collection . This is a used item so there are scratches, dings, dents,cracks, wax, tape glue, and could be missing parts , but that's all to be expected ,for as old is this item is. I believe this item may have been made from 1905 -1930's , but I can't be for sure that's just a guess , there's no date on here.
