This postcard shows cowboys on horses and cattle in the background. This is an ANTIQUE postcard from the early 1900s. The postcard is colorful and attractive, and it looks like a photograph. It is described as Raphotype. This postcard is from Ranching In The West Series # 5214. The front of the postcard has the message: "A 'round up' in the cattle country." The postcard is POSTED. It has a cancel date of 1907 from Fresno, CA. It has an undivided back. It was "PRINTED IN HOLLAND" (Netherlands). This postcard was published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, who is an important and valued publisher. They published from 1866 through the mid 1960s in England. They first started with publishing Christmas cards printed in their native Prussia, Germany, and then moved to London. They are noted for high quality postcards and ephemera that have a huge appeal to collectors. Tuck’s “Oilette” Series was the first VIEWS postcards published in 1903 and came in sets. These became their most popular cards, and a “standard” model for other publishers. The firm was so well respected that they had the honor of being appointed in 1894 by Queen Victoria as the "Art Publishers to their Majesties the King & Queen of the United Kingdom.” This is a BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector.
