Description: Raramuri Tarahumara Basket Collection, 4 Pieces (7020) Recent estate purchase of a collection of a collection of 4 baskets from the Copper Canyon region of Mesico. Three of the urn-shaped baskets are double-walled which gave the basket strength and durability. They are exceptionally strong The prominent colors were red and black, Two of the baskets, both similar in shape, measure 4” to 4 ½” tall, one red and green and the other red and natural cane. Their woven or plaiting technique is often coupled with a plyable grass, it’s natural color provides contrast.. The smaller basket measures 4 ¼” tall, using red and black with natural grass, The small lidded basket is a real treasure! The weaver used a what appears to be a natural color of material, weaving the pattern of red and black. The artistry is so fine that the lid pattern continues to the rim of the lid, matching the pattern in the body of the piece. It measujres 3” in diameter and 1 ¾” in height. The condition of all pieces is excellent. Always pleased to combine shipping when possible. (7020)
