Description: "Berber Girl with Camel". From an original 1940 soft ground etching by Eduard Wiiralt. This is a rare (1946) high quality archival reproduction of an Eduard Wiiralt picture from the 'Wiiralt Print Collection', produced by the Christian Wolff Publishing House, Flensburg, Germany. Eduard Wiiralt (1898-1954) - Estonia's world famous graphic artist - has works held in the collections of the Albertina (Vienna), the Hermitage (St. Petersburg) and the Art Museum of Estonia (Tallinn). His most popular exhibited works are from his surrealist genre and include "Hell", "Cabaret", "Preacher" and "Head of a Negro". This black and white print is in very good condition, clean and unmarked and ideal for framing. It is mounted on a board (showing the title of the work) which has a slightly yellow age-related hue (see photo) and minor edge wear but this would be completely covered up by subsequent re-mounting/framing. The approximate size is 39cm x 31 cm. NOTE; THE SECOND PHOTO (OF THE ORIGINAL FOLIO FRONT AND BACK BOARDS) IS FOR PROVENANCE PURPOSES ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE. THEY CLEARLY SHOW BOTH THE PUBLISHING HOUSE DETAILS (BACK BOARD) AND DATE OF PRODUCTION (FRONT BOARD). ALL OF THE FOLIO (11 PRINTS) IS BEING LISTED ON EBAY AND OTHER SITES.
