Description: Late 1800’s Chinese Civil badges with embroidered paradise flycatcher. This badge is of the 9th rank, identified by the Paradise Flycatcher with two long tail feathers, each with a circle. This low ranking badge is among the most rare civil badge, because many lower ranking civilians were buried with their finest upon death. For the lower ranks this often included their badges. This one is in antique condition with significant water damage to the back of the badge only, and some lose beads. Found at an estate sale.
