Description: Rare Alina Articulating Surface Gage with M31 Dial Test Indicator .0001". The surface gage is missing the dovetail piece. I included a photo I pulled up off of a browser search to show what it looks like. It is the last photo and is for reference only. The dovetail piece shown in last photo IS NOT included. I will include a dovetail holder that could possibly be modified but it would need to be ground down to fit properly. The bar included with the indicator fits the holder perfectly and is approximately 1/4 width for reference. Only what is shown in photos is included. Please review all photos to determine condition and identification. Item is sold as is with No Returns. Will be shipped via USPS Priority. The indicator is a Swiss Alina M31 with a 40mm overall diameter dial. Looks to have had some etchings on one side that were later scratched out as seen in photos. Appears to have smooth function. I know these are very sensitive so I will include an article piece from an expert. "Repeatability must be checked against the measuring surface. When the contact point is resting against the measuring surface, turn the bezel so that zero is directly in line with the pointer (hand). The indicator's "at rest" zero reading must not be used to verify repeatability.Swiveling the contact point may cause the zero setting to change slightly. If this happens, reset zero by turning the bezel.Zero readings may also be off when comparing contact point up and contact point down motions. Reset the zero by turning the bezel as needed.Furthermore, repeatability can only be assured if the indicator is securely fastened to a good test stand or other fixture. Fastening by the dovetail as close as possible to the front of the indicator is the preferred method."
