Rare Antique Soft Paste Porcelain PINECONE Openwork Reticulated Basket, c. 1770

Description: Rare Antique Soft Paste Porcelain PINECONE Pattern, Openwork Reticulated Chestnut Basket, c. 1770 - 1785. This 18th century pierced reticulated basket is a soft paste porcelain example with a beautiful cobalt blue printed design in the "Pine Cone" pattern. A larger version of this rare Worcester basket is illustrated in Sandon's "Worcester Blue & White Porcelain", page 383. It dates the basket from 1770 - 1785. This basket is unmarked with a rough, unfinished bottom with blue splotches from the early soft paste porcelain. Because of this I believe that this is from the Lowestoft porcelain factory as they are one of the three factories none to produce porcelain in this pattern, with Caughley and Worcester. Very rare form that shows the fine workmanship of the Lowestoft factory, in wonderful condition for the age! This is a beautiful Lowestoft chestnut basket is offered here with a Buy It Now.
