B. (Augustus Birrell). The book was privately printed in 1917. This is a limited first edition. The book is 1 of an edition of 100. There is a Christmas gift note by the author dated 1917 to G. W. Y. R on the front flyleaf. Sorry I do not know who G. W. Y. R. is. The author Augustus Birrell signed the note with his initials A. B. The interior is in fine condition. The pages are tight and clean. There are no tears. There are a few spelling corrections in pencil. The cover is in very good to fine condition. There is browning and chipping of the title block. The book is 5 ¼” x 8” and 60 pages. Augustus Birrell was an English politician, barrister, academic and author. He was Chief Secretary for Ireland from 1907 to 1916, resigning in the immediate aftermath of the Easter Rising.
