Description: I recently purchased a collection of fairly rare Civil War related books belonging to a man (now deceased) who metal detected in the Virginia and Maryland area in the 1980's, and also in NM, AZ and Texas after moving here to New Mexico in the 1990's. Watch my present and future auctions for more rare books from this collection, as well as Civil War relics. Please be aware that we are not professional book sellers, but we will describe condition as best as we are capable of. If condition is of the utmost importance to you, please ask questions and request more detailed photos before bidding. Scarce book. Copyright edition - The Army of the Potomac: Its Organization, Its Commander, and Its Campaign. By The Prince De Joinville. Translated from the French, with notes, by William Henry Hurlbert. Soft cover, 1862 1st edition by Anson D. F. Randolph, New York. Measures 6" x 9 1/4"; 118 pages with a foldout map of Richmond in the front. Nice condition for its age. The contents are nice, as well; however, there are markings along the margins of many of the pages (see photos for examples of this). Very rare book, I could not find another one for sale anywhere on the internet. Always glad to combine shipping if you win more than one auction. Thanks for bidding!
