RARE but not perfect - Mamod Live Steam London Bus LB1

Description: LIVING ESTATE SALE (Details at the end of description) For your consideration is a Mamod LB1 Live Steam London Bus made in England in the 1990s. The London Bus has been produced sporadically. Mamod had some difficulties to get the stairs sub-contracted. It has been some long spreads without any being produced. This is a rare item but this particular one is NOT PERFECT. Please keep reading for full disclosure. It has been air tested (video) and should operate on steam without too much trouble.The issues are mostly cosmetic.The main thing to report is the touch-up paint that was done, mostly on the hood (photos).This is a very fragile item and the handrails, being very thin, are the first ones to suffer from poor manipulation.I took pictures of the several areas where the handrails were affected. It also needs a bit of touch-up paint, mostly where the handrails suffered.There is a few spots of light corrosion. Not many.Some of the rivets are a bit loose and need tightening (i.e. first step and fenders...) You will need some solid fuel (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and distilled water is highly recommended. I have packed it well but the result is a HUGE box and the shipping cost is probably high. I am not the one calculating the shipping. eBay does it. Free local pick-up is always available. Mamod decided to stop operations at the end of August 2024.At the time of the closing, to the best of my knowledge, this rare item was not available at the factory. It was unfortunately misrepresented in the description and I was quite disappointed to see that the imperfections I have described here above were not disclosed.
