Description: Up for sale is the first American edition of Dr. Caspari's Homeopathic Domestic Physician. This translation, by Dr. F. Hartmann, is based on Caspari's eighth German edition. It's a hard volume to find. It describes, and prescribes for, most common disorders and diseases of the mid 1800's. The very complete Index helps the reader find their way through the nearly 500 pages of disorders. It was a classic reference work of the time. Condition is good, especially for a 170 year old book. The original boards are there and still attached. The gold stamped spine titles remain strong. Wear to the head and foot of the spine. The boards all around are pretty much worn through. The book must have been pulled off the shelf many, many times over the years. The hinges are intact, and the binding is surprisingly sound. Some minor foxing, mostly to the index. There are 466 numbered pages, plus the Index. Size is about 5 by 7 3/4 inches. NOT ex-library. Please ask any questions you may have; I'd be happy to answer.
