Features classic bright 1980's Memphis style colors in a paint splatter pattern outside and a bright turquoise drip glaze inside. Perfectly suited for any style and color home or office decor. Ted Saito, a San Diego artist who exhibited fine woodcut prints and welded steel sculptures as a member of the San Diego Art Guild, Saito was also a prolific and well-respected potter. Ted Saito is best known for functional pottery influenced by Japanese forms and glazes and ceramic jewelry. Bright colors and comic-like surface designs also appear on some pieces. Ted Saito, who had received his Bachelor's Degree in 1959 from the University of Colorado, had already become a member of the San Diego Potters Guild while completing his M.F.A. in ceramics at San Diego State College in 1964. He is listed as one of seven participating Guild members to show his pottery in 1965 at the Library Gallery located at the University of California, San Diego.
