Description: This low port curb horse bit is a great addition to any Western Americana collection. Its provenance is unfortunately unknown, but it adds to the mystery and intrigue of this unique piece. The bit is perfect for display or as a conversation piece, and its cultural significance as a part of Western Americana cannot be denied. Quality and craftsmanship are evident in its design as the bit is in excellent condition for the age. There is no blemishes that I see on this bit. Everything is right and tight. The cheeks are boldly engraved with a deep, yet simple line design that has a unique south-western flair. With just a few faint scratches on the mouthpiece, this bit looks almost new. This vintage bit is so nice it could still be used as a tool today for horse riding, training, or showing. This stainless steel bit is heavier made than most bits I have handled. The mouth size is 5" and the cheeks are 6 1/2". This bit is a very nice investment as it could be used for riding, decorating, or as a collectible. I have seen some high quality English horse bits marked Eldonian, made in England. This Western bit is a very rare and unique design.
