Description: Pyromorphite is not often seen from North Carolina since the portion of the deposit they occur in were mined out long ago. This is a very rare example of pyromorphite crystals from the Silver Valley Mine which is just north of the better known Silver Hill Mine. While Silver Hill Mine is known for having produced large plates of pyromorphite, Silver Valley mine has many more colors and crystal forms! This amazing miniature specimen features several dozen perfect crystals, like little barrels perched on quartz. They extend from one side of the vug all throughout to the other side and even over towards the side. This was collected by a friend of mine years ago and he gave me the above details since I was not aware that Silver Valley had such amazing varieties of pyromorphite! 4.3x2x1.5 cm
