Description: Well rooted Rare Heirloom Sugar Cane varieties Please message me which type you’d like when making the purchase. ‘Don Cinco’ is a green colored variety ‘POJ’ aka ‘Point of Java’, is a purple colored variety ‘PURPLE RIBBON’ aka ‘Blue ribbon’, is an old heirloom variety from the southern states and gets its name from the red, purple and green striped pattern. It develops a waxy coating that can be wiped off to exposed the beautiful coloration. This variety is both edible and ornamental. Great for molassses. The cane can be peeled and eaten or pressed for juice that can be cooked or dried to give you a non white sugar full of minerals. It is a great variety for chewing and syrup making. This type is more of a vigorous grower compared to other striped canes. Everything I grow is grown organically - no chemicals, EVER. Sugarcane is a beautiful tall grass that can reach over 8 ft tall. It is hardy to zone 8b and can tolerate wet conditions. Once established you can root new plants from mature can stalks to grow your sugar stash! Great addition to a greywater system (as sugarcane will thrive under wet conditions). This plant will set your perennial food forest apart! Please allow up to 7 days after payment, for shipment, to account for schedule and or weather. Please send any questions you have. Thank you for your support!
