Description: RARE Ltd Ed Original Don Ed Hardy Signed "Tortoise North" Mixed Media 4/25 2007 "EYECONS" are works of art by Don Ed Hardy, and were created in collaboration with late master printer David Salgado at his Trillium Graphics studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. These were created in 2007 and were featured alongside other works at the Ventura Art City show at the Sylvia White Gallery in Santa Monica, California. Eyecons are a totally original fusion of oil painting, traditional printmaking techniques, and digital technology. These are combined into three-dimensional pieces utilizing high-tech plastics, paper, and wood. This rare piece is a mixed media work consisting of an image printed on mylar and coated in resin. It is not a painting coated in resin. The imagery is all originated by Hardy and developed in layers. This piece is a limited edition numbered original, signed by the artist. The piece is entitled "Tortoise North, 4/25." The piece is circular, with a diameter of ~11.5". The resin coating takes on a slightly yellow tint that is most obvious when placed against a bright white backdrop (please see photo for details). Drops of resin are still visible on the underside of the piece and there are several darkened areas visible from the back only. Some dust/discoloration occurs on the back of the piece. These imperfections are somewhat noticeable but do not impact the overall quality of the piece. A wooden square insert is included on the back for hanging. An original 4" promotional sticker from Trillium Graphics is included with purchase. Reasonable Best Offers will be considered.
