Tulipunainen print is very difficult to find. Tulipunainen is one of the patterns that Maija Isola designed for Marimekko in the 1960. It´s a pattern that has been in production for many years, making it one of the iconic Marimekko patterns. Dark blue abstract flowers printed on stripes of green. At the turn of the 1960s, Maija Isola became inspired by folk art and designed the decorative Ornamentti (ornament) series of lacy prints reminiscent of traditional embroidery motifs. Tulipunainen (scarlet) was one of the designs in that series. This one was printed in 2000, by Marimekko in Finland. This is how Marimekko lists the care instructions: "Wash separately in plenty of water the first few times to remove any excess dye that may have remained on the fabric surface. Do not soak, machine wash hot at 140F/60C, do not use chlorine bleach, do not tumble dry, iron hot, dry clean allowed." About MARIMEKKO Marimekko is a Finnish design house based in Helsinki renowned for its original prints and colors. Marimekko has made important contributions to fashion, especially in the 1960s. It is particularly noted for brightly colored printed fabrics and simple styles, used both in women's garments and in home furnishings. Marimekko's bold fabrics and bright, simple design strongly influenced late 20th-century taste. Many of the early Marimekko designs, including Maija Isola's Unikko, remain in production today. They were made famous in the United States by Jacqueline Kennedy, who bought eight Marimekko dresses which she wore throughout the 1960 United States presidential campaign. Today Marimekko is a leading textile company, producing fabrics, clothing and home furnishings. They have stores all over the world - from United States and Europe to Japan and Australia.
