Description: Available is a rare original unnumbered United States Navy Mexican Service Medal that was produced by the United States Mint. The medal comes on its original full wrap broach mounted ribbon with a rotating catch. The medal has the tell-tale milled edge and 4 o'clock opening on the suspension ring attached to the planchet. These traits, along with the broach and the planchet itself, identify that the medal was made by the Mint. However, this is the ONLY example of this type that I have seen without a number. I’m guessing it was made sometime between 1920 and 1940. While the medal itself is in very good condition, the original ribbon shows substantial age and has separated from the broach.
