Description: This rare and beautiful pair of Brass/Bronze Masonic Freemason bookends belonged to my Grandparents. My Grandfather was a Past Master of the North Butte Masonic Lodge #230 in 1947. Some of the Symbols depicted are the square and compass ("to act squarely" and to be true and honest and for self discipline, temperance, and the importance of living a balanced life), and the All Seeing Eye/Eye of Providence (reminder that God is always observing humanity's thoughts and deeds and God is referred to as the Great Architect of the Universe), trowel (emblem of unity among Masons, as it binds them together in brotherly love and friendship. Also, as a reminder to help his fellow man any way he can.) You see the heart is depicted also. These bookends are really remarkable and quite solid at over 3 lbs. a piece - could make wonderful door stops. The original green felt is on the bottom and the back says: MFG BY GEO H WEIGMANREEDSPORT ORE (BOX 263 written in hand on back in red on one bookend and in pencil on the other bookend) HEIGHT - 7.5" INCHES TALLWIDTH - 5.25" WIDEDEPTH - 1.75" FRONT TO BACKWEIGHT - 6.5 LBS. for the PAIR If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer you.
