These GSG-9 boots are all original, and are fully complete, and retain their original laces, and athletic insoles. Labele Made in Germany . thus indicating that these boots are of a true older vintage, and likely were made in the mid to late 1980s (unlike many of the Adidas GSG-9 boots seen on Ebay, which were made in this older style, but in recent years). Adidas shoes of earlier manufacture vintage were made in factories in Germany, before most of this work was first transferred to cheaper labor facilities throughout Europe, and then eventually to factories in Asia. For years, the Adidas GSG-9 Tactical Assault boots have become legendary for their widespread use and acceptance in the international Special Operations community (both in Military and Police forces), and wereperhaps the world’s first tactical boot which uniquely offered an athletic, aggressive, and stealthy design, in fact, as the boots were first exclusively designed for use by the crack West German Counter-Terrorism commando unit, GSG-9, they were naturally named for this legendary unit. In US Military Special Operations units, these Adidas GSG-9 boots became widely sought after and used, and became favorite operational footwear of the US Army’s ‘Delta Force’, and saw wide use with the Delta Operators in the famed “Blackhawk Down” mission in Mogadishu, Somalia, in October 1993. (GSG-9 boots are seen in use with some ‘Delta Boys’ in the “Blackhawk Down” movie.)
