RARE Vintage Woman Girl Pirate Peek A Boo Bar Tumbler Glass Peep Show Novelty

Description: Vintage Peek-A-Boo Tumbler/Cocktail Glass *I do not know any more details about this item other than what I've listed below. Novelty naughty Peek A Boo glasses were at the height of popularity during the late 1940s to mid-1960s. H. Fishlove and Co. printed the lots of these decals and supplied Johnson Smith Co. with many of its girlie glasses, who sold them through small magazine ads. The tumblers themselves were manufactured by glassware companies, particularly Libby and Anchor Hocking. Federal Glass Co. was one company that made these types of glasses in all three decades. Other companies that produced peek-a-boo and mystic decals include Jaco Lac, Meyercord, and Duro Decal. These are known as Peek A Boo, because once you fill these up and start to drink from them, the women's clothing becomes translucent and almost disappears, leaving the women in their undergarments or nude. This outer decal of this particular Peek-A-Boo glass is of a woman wearing pirate style clothing. The inner glass decal shows the "Peek-A-Boo" version. I believe this was made by Libby, but I am not 100% certain. Measures Approximately: 5.5" Tall 2.75" Top Diameter 2.25" Bottom Diameter The decal is in very good pre-owned condition! No chips or cracks to the glass! In great pre-owned condition with minimal signs of wear consistent with age and history. *There are some minor scratches on the bottom of the glass, as shown in pictures. *There is minor wear to the decal around feet and decal edges, as shown in pictures. Please note that these are very old and delicate decals on the glasses, and putting these in the dishwasher or using a strong soap, abrasive pad, or cloth is not recommended.
