Description: Original Canadian WW2 Browning Hi Power holster. This was the very first pattern of holster produced by the Canadians for the browning Hi Power and was officially designated Holster, C, No. 2, Mk 1.This particular pattern of holster is more commonly referred to as the "Chinese contract" holster as these were originally produced for the Chinese military during the war, but the contract was cancelled and instead these went into service with the British and Canadian forces. Very few of these were produced as troops began to complain that the holster was too tight fitting for the pistol.Due to the complaints, the first pattern holster was soon after replaced by the larger second pattern BHP holster.Overall the holster is in excellent condition. The holster still retains its original deep khaki coloring with minimal fading. It has a few minor spots of wear / marks from use.The original leather cleaning rod retainer is still present and nice and pliable. The holster also still retains the original steel magazine pouch liner, the brass rivets holding it in place are marked "U.C.F. CANADA".The markings have been black out for some unknown reason, but the markings are still partially visible.Very rare piece. Thanks for looking.
