This is not a good idea since the more complicated stuff you add to a refrigerator design, the more chance it will break. AND after all, you really just need a refrigerator to have very simple engineering and for it to get cold without repairs. Like most stuff built now, Sub-Zero has deviated from their previous path of just building a reliable unit. So the previous models are simpler, better, not to mention they use the standard R134a Freon gas which has been around for 25yrs now. The new Sub-Zero models use a less tested newer refrigerant gas which must meet Govt regulations. What does that tell you ? We noted a lot of EBay sellers list their Sub-Zero units as refurbished but none of these listings say the fresh food evaporator has been replaced with a new factory OEM evaporator. This is a $2,500 to $3,500 repair and unless this has been done, then the unit is not refurbished and the part will fail losing all its Freon gas. This is a refurbished Model 632/S unit. The fresh food evaporator, stainless, top grill, etc, have been replaced with factory OEM SZ parts. No aftermarket Chinese parts used. Neither of the stainless doors have any flaws whatsoever. See below photos. Interior has no damage. Some of the clear plastic bins and glass shelves have some very light scuff marks here and there. We rate the overall condition as good to very good but it is not perfect. So if you require something better then maybe this unit is not for you. The current list price for the new model is about $12,975. The manuals can be downloaded from the factory links found on the internet. Attention Sub-Zero Buyers:As you can research on the internet, Sub-Zero Series 400, 500, 600, 700 models have defective and leaking fresh food evaporators installed from the factory when sold as new. Many units being resold already have this leak, but before the unit is sold they are filled with some Freon gas so they appear to work correctly. The refrigerator will operate correctly for a week to several months, before the gas leaks out, then it will no longer get cold. The freezer will still work fine. So, unless the unit you purchase a unit with a replaced evaporator and it has a sticker attached saying so, chances are that refrigerator has not had this part replaced. The part has a 99% failure rate and will fail, resulting in a $2,000 repair cost. And then, ONLY a Sub-Zero factory evaporator should be used for the replacement, since the Chinese aftermarket part has a 50% failure rate right out of the box. All our Series 400, 500 & 600 Sub-Zero units have replaced evaporators and we will not sell those models if it still has the original factory evaporator installed. As part of our refurbishing process, all units have new OEM Sub-Zero factory evaporators replaced by our licensed refrigerant technicians. Payment & Other Terms We accept the above credit cards.
