Description: This is a special vise arguably one of the finest 4 in swivel vises ever made. I know vises I have restored over 850 vintage vises. I restored the vise correctly totally dissembled every single piece inspected the vise was missing the collar that holds the handle. I fabricated a new collar and it is now as it should be perfect as Prentiss intended . I took her to metal removed all scars by sanding . I refinished the jaws all exposed metal polished. I used automotive primer and 3 coats of Dark Cherry automotive paint finishing with a lacquer clear coat. Cream highlights. You cannot buy a vise like this today .Sadly they are no longer made the vise was made in 1944 and works looks like new.The screw and nut are excellent there are no repairs welds breaks or fillers. I sell 4 in Wilton’s for more than I’m listing this vise for. Sorry Wilton fans this vise is superior in every way. So if you’re in the market for a real serious vise. This is it .
