Description: Plate from Ristorante "Al Ben Vegnu", an Italian Michelin Star restaurant which opened in 1899 in Cessalto, Italy. In the case of this plate, the restaurant carried a Michelin Star for many years in the town of Cessalto in the Treviso region of Italy. The restaurant began in 1899. The plate is visually excellent from the front, but does have some crazing on the back, probably because the glaze is thicker in this area. I've shown this in the photos. I purchased this when I lived in Italy. It is unmarked but clearly hand painted. These plates were commonly used in restaurants all over Italy to commemorate a restaurant or meal typical of them. My home is non smoking, and it does not carry any odors from the previous home.
