Did you know that while Rizla Green first launched in 1948, our heritage dates all the way back to the 18th century? In 1796, at the height of the French Revolution, our first production license was granted, kicking our rolling paper enterprise into action. It took just shy of a century for the Rizla name to come about, helped by the game-changing switch to rice paper. We combined Riz (or rice in French) with La+, an abbreviation of the name of our founding family, Lacroix, and just like that, Rizla was born. Since the launch of Rizla Green, the design has been seen (and heard) all over pop culture, popping up in music festivals, sporting events and more.
