In 1947, he began working as a fashion photographer for Harper's Bazaar in New York City. In 1955, he began an odyssey across the US travelling throughout a 2 year period and taking 28,000 shots for his book The Americans. He subsequently selected 83 shots for the book. Jack Kerouac wrote the Introduction. This poster is one of the shots selected for the book of a movie premiere in Hollywood 1956. Description: Offset lithograph/Poster is Oversized, Rare and Out-Of-Print. New, unused, stored rolled in our Gallery's storage for 25+ years. This poster was created for an Exhibition at the Musée de l'Elysée Lausanne in 1987. This is an original poster from that year - we do not print our own posters. In Near Mint (NM) Condition - there may be light wear on edges from being rolled in storage. We are apologizing the picture of the item. Due to the size of the print, it was difficult to photograph. The picture does not do justice to the print. It is of the highest quality, with deep black & white/whites and excellent clarity befitting the reputation of the Musée de l'Elysée.
