The work measures 41 x 27 inches and is from an edition of 50. Each print in the series celebrates a different Humanitarian theme for the 21st century. Robert Rauschenberg (Milton Ernest Rauschenberg) was born on October 22, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was an American painter, Sculptor, Printmaker, Photographer, Performance and Graphic Artist is recognized as one of the 20th century's most influential and prolific artists whose early works anticipated the pop art movement. . While too much of an individualist ever to be fully a part of any movement, he acted as an important bridge between Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. A pioneer of the "Transfer Drawing" process, he experimented in technologically sophisticated combinations of photographs and drawings. As iconoclastic in his invention of new techniques as in his wide-ranging iconography of modern life, he suggested new possibilities that continued to be exploited by younger artists throughout the latter decades of the 20th century.
