Description: You have found the missing piece to your porcelain dog collection! Here is a large figurine of a British or English Bulldog from Rosenthal, 345. It was designed by Fritz Diller and has his name stamp. Produced by Rosenthal in 1917 by Fritz Diller who was from a free colleague of Rosenthal for figures and animals from 1913-1927. Modeled by Diller after his famous bronze Bulldog produced in 1910. Known for his work depicting dogs, Diller modeled dog figures for the various Meissen related porcelain companies, KPM, Rosenthal, Royal Berlin, etc. Diller's name is impressed underneath the figurine along with the mold number 345. Diller was an amazing European artist who captured an animal's character. It is interesting to note that although the bronze was produced during the 1st World War, Diller was influenced by the character of the British Bulldog. He measures 6" by 13" across by 8 1/2" tall and is in excellent preowned condition, no chips or cracks. Please see our Not Just China Store for more figurines & collectibles.
