As far as age, On the backstamp of the teapot and lid, according to our research, it is believed to be manufactured sometime mid 20th century. The line below the O in Royal indicates 1951 on the teapot and the line below the Y in Royal indicates 1952 on the lid. Please see pics. In pristine mint condition! Upon our inspection, we do not see any chips, cracks, crazing, or glued pieces. The gold gilt has virtually no wear at all and considering overall condition rate the hand painted gilt at pristine mint condition too. Crafted in Denmark, this teapot is made of high-quality porcelain and is an original piece from the Royal Copenhagen Brown Rose Teapot collection. It comes with a lid, a handle (note thumb flared lip for intent of sturdy handling) and is easy to fill. The height to the top of the lid finial is 6 inches and the width from the outer edge of the spout to the outside edge of the handle is 9 inches. The teapot decoration adds elegance to any high tea or fine dining occasion. Note the gold top finial on the lid as well. A beautiful decor or gift piece.
