Description: This teacup and saucer from Royal Grafton Fine Bone China is in excellent condition, they have no damage or wear. My mother had quite a few teacups and sauces that she displayed in a glass case, I do not think they were ever used. The pattern has a pink rose in the center of the cup and saucer with a band of pink around the rose. Footed teacup is 3 7/8 inches diameter at the top X 2 1/8 inches tall and the saucer is 5 1/2 inches diameter X approx 3/4 inches deep. The back stamp on these pieces was used from 1957 till 1992. Jones started a new company at the newly built Grafton Works in 1901, he was joined by his two sons shortly after he started the company and it became A. B. Jones & Sons. The company used the trade name Grafton China & Royal Grafton China almost from the start. The Company was sold in 1971 and renamed Crown Lynn China Ltd. In 1985 the management bought out Crown Lynn China and renamed the company Royal Grafton China Ltd. For this whole time the company was located at the Grafton Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Krent and used the trade name Royal Grafton Fine Bone China. The company was sold in 1992 to John Tams Group and it appears the trade name was dropped at that time.
