Description: A Victorian owl shaped propelling pencil made by Sampson Mordan & Co Makers in c1870, made in the form of an owl with amber glass eyes. The pencil is in very good condition with no damage on the scales of the owl. The suspension loop ring is broken and partially missing however, one loop and another loop ring comes with this pencil so the buyer will need to get it soldered by a silversmith. Price reflects cost of this soldering. A lovely piece of craft and artistry by the renowned maker. MAKER: Sampson Mordan & Co. London MEDIUM: Not hallmarked. "S. Mordan & Co stamped on the tube.
