Despite the similarities, the musketeer blade is very different from the usual epee blade. It is much stiffer, slightly heavier and has a different shape from the top edge. The closest analogues of blades date from the beginning of the 17th century. Threaded 6mm and made in Europe from high carbon steel 60S2A, Tempered to 51-53 HRC, flexible enough for thrust that will not leave permanent deformation nor “S” curves.
