Description: This scarce 1900s British paper label "Sambesi" 50 cigar tin, measuring 5" x 5 1/4", is in good condition with no rust, one crease on the lid edge and some age related paper discoloration. There are some small paper tears on the lid edge and it is possible that the lid has been varnished by a previous owner. The original cedar liner remains. This extraordinary off-white, tan and black tin features an image on the lid of an African tobacco worker sitting on a bale of tobacco. The sides have a diamond band. These cigars were manufactured for inhabitants of British African colonies.
