Description: Vintage Schonbek Crystal Chandelier. This was my Grandmothers dining room chandelier that was purchased in 1971 in south Florida. It remained in her dining room for 28 years until til she moved to an assisted living facility. According to my Father, she paid far too much for it to be included in the sale of her home. We disconnected it from the ceiling and carefully packed in up in plastic, packing peanuts, and a cardboard box then placed it in my Father's home for the last 25 years. After my Fathers passing, I unpacked it and removed and cleaned every crystal drop and replaced all the lights. For display and photograph purposes, I hung it from my ceiling fan and connected it to an extension cord to verify it still worked. The fixture measures 20" across the top of the largest ring and the lowest crystals extend down approximately 9" from the top of the top ring. There is approximately 16" of hanging chain. There is some discoloration on the top of arms the extend to the bulbs and on top of the distribution box but that really can't been seen from below. I have not attempted to clean or polish those areas or the outer portion of the brass rings. It is as it was when we disconnected it 25 years ago. Pretty amazing condition considering it's age! I can not find a makers mark on the fixture. My parents being builders of custom homes at the time and having purchased many Schonbek Chandeliers for those homes had apparently helped her find and purchase this particular fixture from their lighting dealer.
