Machined, anodized aluminum housings contain a teflon (PTFE) pin holder that has a center pin and grounding clamp, as if it's a miniature version of an RCA connector. The housing is threaded, so once you solder your cables to the terminals, simply screw it back together. The plugs have locking tabs and work exactly as the can connectors on the Sennheiser HD800. Beezar Audio (the source of this listing) believes there is no finer - or easier - DIY headphone connector on the market for the Sennheiser HD800. As with the HD650 connectors on sale elsewhere here, two very important things are present to help you make the finest in headphone cables: The two-piece threaded aluminum housings mean if you mess up, disconnect the plugs, unscrew the housings, and start over. The teflon pin holders are highly resistant to soldering and will not melt under normal soldering temperatures. Both of these important points mean DIY-ing your own cables are easier than ever. You could try another type - but good luck finding them. These are among the only ones you will find, certainly at this price. It helps that they're a snap to use, though, and look great, too! As far as we know, there is only one other domestic source for these and it's another seller here on ebay. All credit due to that seller, because Beezar discovered them there.
