Description: the handmade vase vase design detail appears on both front and back of vase. handmade: pewter seams are visible. i think this is a reflection of it's arts & crafts-ness: where they intended to expose the mechanics of a piece (best demonstrated by the tell tale signs in furniture). there is an amazing serenity to the vase. lovely warm patina that only pewter can end up with over time. i think the designer meant it to acquire the lovely patina that has—it's part of it's story over time and part of the intent of the design. i have not seen a vase exactly like it in my long time of loving scandinavian decor. and i don't remember running into and arts & crafts scandanavian items nor much norwegian metal work that isn't jewelry. maker/marks see third image; here in text: «pewter 93.7%» «handmade» «tveito» maybe the name of the maker? «norway» «17» (which may be the style №) dimensions see third image; here in text: width from side seam to side seam: 1 7/8" depth of the vase from front to back: 1 1/8" height: 4 7/8 weight (i don't current have a scale for my other stuff, but this item i already had the weight noted): 6.3 ounces. vase is not cement weighted condition notes some surface wear in places commensurate with age. shown in photos. does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece and is very subtle. i defer to its next caretaker on whether or not to polish it. but i wouldn't. i think the designer meant for it to acquire the lovely patina that can only come with age. the fine print the images are the majority of the listing description, so take a look at them closely. shipping costs have really increased—this is calculated into the buy-it-now price. trying to downsize some, though extremely melancholically. shipping time: i otherwise work more than full time and my health isn't great, so kindly excuse the longer handling time. if i am able to ship sooner, i absolutely will do that. i appreciate you taking the time to view my listing.
