Description: French Sèvres soft paste signed porcelain and ormolu twin handle electric table lamp of traditional form and of outstanding quality, and good size proportions, raised on a round stepped heavy gauge ormolu base with canted corners and beaded detail. The central front reserve depicting a seated courting couple in 18th century dress in landscape within a reserve of lavish tooled gilding, back view with a view of a landscape on a navy blue ground with gilded highlights. Second quarter of the 19th century. Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses to porcelain. Professionally re-wired for electricity.
