Here is some general information regarding Skylanders Portals that may be helpful to you. Some of this information may not apply to the items in this listing. I like to post this information on all of my Skylander portal listings because it can be helpful information: Skylanders portals are both forward compatible and backwards compatible with the Skylander games. The only exception being some of the Trap Team items.These portals are for the xbox 360. These portals can not be used on the xbox one or any other console besides the xbox 360. You can use an older portal to play later games, however, there is often a loss of speed when using the older portals. For the best results place your characters near the edge of the portal as this reduces what is believed to be loss of gain in the antenna suffered by using an older portal. Also, any newer features designed after the portal was made won't work. For example, crystals in trap team won't work on older portals as the portals weren't designed to handle them. Trap Team doesn't play nice with other portals. A trap team portal is required to play some trap team characters. Other portals can read most trap team characters but NOT all the characters. For example, on the imaginators portal, the train and any crystals can't be used but other trap team characters work just fine. So while the game accepts other portals and will let you use some characters, you can't play them all...unless you use the correct portal.
