Description: In 1930 the Smithsonian Institution published a 12 volume series of scientific studies to publicize "the history and activities of the institution." Volume 5 is a study of "Insects Their Ways and Means of Living by Robert Snodgrass of the U.S. Dept. of Bureau of Entomology. This Patron's Edition copy #1722 was printed in1934 and contains wonderful descriptions, illustrations on everything from grasshoppers to lice and mosquitoes and bunches of insects in between. There are 362 pages including an index. The book is ex-library, however library markings are limited to the checkout card on the back page. Red leatherette bound hard cover with green Smithsonian device on front cover. Minor shelf wear. No tears or marks that I can find; binding is tight. Please look closely at the photos as they are part of the description. Book will be shipped in a box.
