The core material in the center of the shell is made of high-strength wenge from Africa, sandwiched between maple on both sides. This hybrid construction adds a hard, heavy sound to the bright, warm sound that is the hallmark of maple, and provides a wide dynamic range from the midrange to the bass register. Absolute Hybrid Maple clearly expresses the sound sought by drummers from pianissimo (pp) to fortissimo (ff). The bearing edge is set with an obtuse edge shape of 45°/R1.5.
