Description: If you have ever worked on a Sony TAN-5550 VFET amplifier, you have probably encountered its usage of non-standard, unobtainable filter capacitors. Not only that, but the main circuit board is supported by these capacitors, making height and size critical for proper fitment. This listing is just for the circuit board, nothing else!! In response to this problem, I designed a brand new circuit board based on the original design. This new circuit board poses several advantages over the original, such as:New provision for a 5 watt resistor on the power lamp, as the original runs very hot.New provision for using high quality WIMA capacitors. Designed for readily available 5 pin filter capacitors from Kemet or CDE. Uses high quality gold plated terminals for the wire connections.Much higher quality PCB but remains faithful to the original layout.These amps are phenomenal performers, and using brand new high quality filter capacitors to extract the best performance from this amplifier is worth every penny. Once you purchase this board, I will provide a BOM and an instructional guide on how to assemble this board and install it in your TAN-5550. I developed these for my own personal restorations and they have worked flawlessly in multiple 5550's. It is fairly straight forward but the guide will provide lots of clean and clear pictures going step by step on how to assemble it.
