Description: Spode Copelands Chelsea Garden Mustard Trim Dinner Plate 10 5/8 inch Pre-Owned. Spode china was started in 1780 by Josiah Spode I, a visionary in business and tableware. In 1829 the company was sold to the Copeland family where it remained until the mid 1960's when it merged with Royal Worcester.This gorgeous bone china dinner plate is the "Chelsea Garden" pattern, circa 1952-1988. The pattern consists of a multi-motif floral design with wide fluted border, mustard trim and a vivid pallet of colors for the floral designs. The dinner plates were made in five or six distinct floral patterns. Markings on the back will vary slightly from piece-to-piece. Beautiful scalloped edges with mustard trim. Lovely condition with NO CHIPS OR CRACKS. Some wear from use.
