Description: Complete set of 4 #3CVP1 to 3CVP4 + #3CVP2a tagged variety Scott's assigns "3CVP" as the series of "non-personalizable postage" from vendors of "custom postage" (such as "PhotoStamps" by stamps.com). These are basically "make-up rate" stamps issued during years where the regular 1st ounce domestic postage rate was increased (either by 1¢, 2¢ or 5¢). Stamps.com, which sold these, called 3 of these 4 small stamps (3CVP1, 3CVP3, 3CVP4) "bippies" (that is actually how they refer to them, as that was on the shipping label of the mailing envelopes that I received from them when I originally ordered these! --> see scan #3, cropped from one of these stamps.com mailing envelopes; the line of text underneath the red sticker reads "Bippies Sheet of 40 - 2¢"; this envelope is NOT included in this lot, I'm simply providing a scan as proof that they called these "bippies"). ... Although online, they used to call them "catchup" postage... Go figure... There are 4 stamps listed in this series, Scott catalog numbers #3CVP1 to #3CVP4. --> See the main scan for all stamps that are part of this lot. #3CVP2 was a special make-up rate version in the same size as regular "PhotoStamps", presumably designed to provide additional "advertising" for stamps.com's "PhotoStamps" products ... The scan shows the stamps in the order that they were issued:#3CVP1 - 2¢ bippy (2007)#3CVP2 - 2¢ "your photo here" (2008)#3CVP2a - tagged version, 2¢ "your photo here" (2008)#3CVP3 - 1¢ bippy (2008)#3CVP4 - 5¢ bippy (2019)In addition to #3CVP2, also included is #3CVP2a, a "tagged" version of #3CVP2. To see the difference, I have taken a side-by-side photo of both #3CVP2 & #3CVP2a, which can be seen as the 2nd scan. If you'll notice, the tagged version (right stamp in the photo) shows a rectangular block of tagging over the indicia area that glows yellowish under longwave UV light; the tagging also has a "square untagged" area over the 2¢ denomination portion. Issue dates: 2007 to 2019Vendor: stamps.comType: make-up rate postage, self-adhesive gumPerforations: - straight-line die-cut on all 4 sides with rounded corners on #3CVP1, #3CVP3 & #3CVP4- straight-line die-cut on 3 sides (top, left, bottom) and simulated die-cut perforation holes on the right side on #3CVP2 Current Availability from stamps.com: - None: when the USPS shut down the custom photo program on June 10, 2020, these stamps were then no longer sold by stamps.comOriginal configuration: - #3CVP1, #3CVP3 & #3CVP4 came in 8.5" x 11" sheets of 40- #3CVP2 (and #3CVP2a) came in 8.5" x 11" sheets of 20 Condition: Mint-never-hinged on original backing paper.Note: You will receive all 5 stamp designs shown in the main scan (note: I have several lots, all are identical stamps except for the individual serial numbers & barcodes; as such, the scan serves to be representative of what you will receive). For purposes of getting a good scan, I have removed the selvage surrounding the stamps in order to better highlight the actual stamps. The stamps have good spacing on left & right sides, but only about 2 mm vertical separation, so in order to provide these on the original backing paper, I had to carefully cut out each stamp from the original sheet using a hobby knife. I have left the original selvage in place of the lots that I am selling, you can remove it if you'd like or even trim the backing paper closer to the stamps; I'll leave that up to you! Width of the selvage area will vary depending on which position of the original sheet the stamps were cut out from. --> If you are a specialty collector of Custom Postage, Computer Vended Postage, etc, then this is your chance to purchase a complete set (note: I have not seen anyone else sell a complete set of the main 3CVP series plus the tagged variety)! Postage & Shipping options: - Domestic First Class (via eBay standard envelope, tracked while enroute, indemnity by eBay )- Domestic Ground Advantage (USPS tracked & insured)(recommended!)- Foreign Airmail (not tracked - sent at your risk). =====================================================================[Side Note: There is an additional "variety", technically an error, on some versions of 3CVP1, assigned 3CVP1a by Scott's, which has 1 stamp in the sheet of 40 stamps, the 2nd stamp from the left on the bottom row, which has "US POSTAG" instead of "US POSTAGE". I only have one entire spare sheet of that, and it is not priced by Scott's, and is NOT in this lot. I am mentioning it simply so people know that it exists, but difficult to find, and presumably expensive due them not listing a price. What I am selling, as stated above, is the complete of 4 stamps based on the main Scott numbers of 3CVP1 to 3CVP4; catalog numbers appended with a lower-case letter generally are not considered a part of a "complete set" when priced in Scott's and are generally sold separately. In this case, the only variety I am selling in addition to the 4 main stamps, is 3CVP2a, the "tagged" version of 3CVP2, since I have sufficient copies of that.
