Stiffel Pair of VTG Regency 33" Brass/White Porcelain Table Lamps, Silk Shades

Description: This is a stunning pair of vintage 1950s-1960s Hollywood Regency style Stiffel table lamps in beautiful condition. Both lamps have been tested and are in working condition. The detail work on these pieces is exquisite! Starting from the base, the construction uses solid brass with black bands to add depth and color. Zoom in on the pictures because the base features several layers and textures. Notice the 2" black band that is layered with a raised brass grape vine pattern that has been delicately formed, shows vines, leaves and bunches of grapes, and it separately attached to the lamp with small brass screws. You will notice some rub marks on the brass base, but they are overall in lovely condition. Above the grape vine, the base has several additional layers of brass with some black bands mixed in. Each layer is different and beautiful. The base, with all its layers, stands 8" tall. Connecting to the base is an urn-shaped white porcelain body, the bottom of which is in the shape of a lotus flower. The rest of the body appears to be held up by the lotus. A gold band appears in the middle of the urn and the top of the urn connects to a round slotted brass piece that has the look of an oil lamp. Extending horizontally from each of these pieces is a brass flower with leave, petal and stamen. They serve no power function but add elegant detail. The slotted structure connects to a brass pillar that extends the neck of the lamp for height. We believe the Stiffel lamp shades are original to the lamps but do not guarantee this. They are the proper style and are silk, and they are marked "STIFFEL" on the round brass connector ring. One of the shade is in good shape on the outside of the shade but shows signs of wear (a couple of tears) on the inside). The other shade has a rip on the outside (that won't show depending on how the lamp is turned) and has significant deterioration on the inside (half of the inside lining has separated from the frame). The shades are included because we believe they may be original and would prefer to leave the decision about what to do with them to the purchaser. The power cords are brown with vintage plugs and dial on/off switches. While the lamps are in working order, the wiring on vintage lamps should always be checked by an expert prior to use.
