Description: Stunning Antique Japanese Mother of Pearl Inlaid Lacquerware Stationary Box This wonderful box has been inlaid using mother of pearl to create a scrolling peony design. The box has a black lacquer ground. The box has a shallow rectangular form with a lift off lid. The base, walls and interior are plain glossy black. The box retains two interior lacquered trays. There is some loss to the inlay, one blossom is missing a central petal and there is another with some minor edges missing. It is otherwise in really good order. The box is in good antique condition, it measures approx. 24.6cm by 23cm by 5cm. A beguiling collectable. Please see pictures for more details. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
