The pau ferro fingerboard is a nice complement to the snappy and aggressive tone of the Suhr as it helps to ever-so-slightly tame that a little bit. The pau ferro keeps some of that nice, round, mid-range of rosewood while having a little more top-end response to it. The pickups in this one, the chimey V60s and the hot SSH+ humbucker, have a little more edge than their Classic brethren's usual configuration of V60LPs and an SSV humbucker, but the Standard's set is still capable of dialing up a vintage tone with no issues while still allowing you to delve into some modern sounds with more aggressiveness.
