Description: This group of 8 drawings from 2012 take inspiration from the boats in dock at one of the harbors in Geneva Switzerland. It was winter and the sails of the boats were all bound in blue canvas covers. These drawings are 9" x 12", in pencil and pastel on paper. There are some references to Moby Dick in a couple of the drawings. The drawings are loose and gestural, showing traces of their process, but ultimately relatively minimal in their presence. These are basically untitled, but alternatively referred to as Mast drawings. As a group, they make a nice minimal suite with those punches of bright blue in a grouping, or arrayed in a setting like an office.
